FAGA presenta o seu proxecto piloto para granxas de caprino e ovino sostibles

Presentación de PRALEITE en Monforte

O Parador de Monforte de Lemos acolleu hoxe a presentación dun proxecto piloto para pécheo de ciclos produtivos en Galicia a través do aproveitamento de produtos cárnicos e lácteos de ovino e caprino, o Proxecto Ruminantes ou “ PRALEITE”.

O proxecto foi presentado no Foro “Nacer e Medrar”, organizado pola Fundación Agroalimentaria de Galicia ( FAGA) co apoio da Deputación Provincial de Lugo e a colaboración de Santander Agro para promover o networking e intercambio de iniciativas emprendedoras entre empresarios e outros axentes do sector agroalimentario.

Jaime López, como secretario da CEL e de FAGA, e José Tomei, como presidente da Deputación de Lugo, foron os encargados de presentar o Foro. Ambos coincidiron na necesidade de pechar ciclos produtivos no agroalimentario galego e no impacto que isto pode ter na loita contra o despoboamento. En palabras de Jaime López, “non nos queda máis remedio que mirar cara ao rural”, e de José Tomei, “producimos pero non transformamos, e iso é unha pena”; “temos unhas materias primas e uns produtos buenísimos, pero temos que traballar para que o valor engadido quede en Galicia”.

Os veterinarios e diplomados europeos en pequenos ruminantes, hoxe exercendo na Universidade de Zaragoza, José Mº González Sainz e Teresa Navarro Rodríguez, foron os encargados de realizar o estudo de campo en Galicia e desenvolver o proxecto Ruminantes ou PRALEITE (Proxecto piloto para a implantación de granxas de pequenos ruminantes de aptitude leiteira en zonas rurais do Sur da provincia de Lugo – PRALEITE, Pequenos Ruminantes Aptitude LEITE-).

González Sainz presentou “ Praleite” #ante unha vintena de persoas, entre as que se atopaban veterinarios, membros de OVICA e empresas transformadoras con interese na produción da tipoloxía de explotacións prevista no proxecto. Entre outros, estiveron presentes representantes de Naturleite, Subministracións Megaro Foods, Entrepinares ou Dayrlac.

Proxecto Ruminantes

O proxecto Ruminantes ou Praleite xorde “por iniciativa da propia industria”, segundo destacou o presidente de FAGA e CEO de Megaro Foods, Carlos Cebrián. “Non nace como un proxecto subvencionado, se non que somos as propias industrias as que temos interese na produción cárnica e láctea de explotacións de ovino e caprino, e iso garante a súa viabilidade”. “Este interese -subliña- é o que nos leva a buscar ferramentas como a constitución dunha Fundación e o estudo especializado dun modelo de explotación que sexa viable e sostible en Galicia”. Neste punto, na posta en marcha de FAGA e a realización do estudo contamos “co apoio da Deputación de Lugo”.

A realización do estudo supuxo a visita de explotacións gandeiras por todo Galicia, e especialmente no sur de Lugo pola dispoñibilidade de hectáreas, e a definición dun modelo de explotación de ovino e caprino, alternativa ao gando vacún, especialmente para produción e leite destes animais que nestes momentos practicamente non existe nesta Comunidade, aínda que se aproveitaría tamén a carne.

O fin de garantir a súa implantación a futuro, con viabilidade e a longo prazo, para o modelo de explotación definido en Praleite estudáronse a fondo esas tres vertentes, as necesidades de investimento e financiamento, número máximo de animais que poida atender en cada unha para garantir a conciliación laboral e familiar e evitar o abandono das novas xeracións destas explotacións, investigación e innovación, cocientes de rendibilidade e xeración de emprego, entre outros. Estúdiase agora a localización da primeira granxa deste tipo para comprobar os resultados do estudo e expandir o modelo por toda Galicia.

Produtores e empresas

No Foro tamén interviñeron, tras a presentación do proxecto, Luís Rivera e Miguel Viña, presidente e veterinario da Asociación de Criadores de Ovino e Caprino de Galicia ( OVICA) respectivamente, e representantes de Naturleite, Entrepinares, Subministracións Megaro Foods S.L., Santander Agro e a consultora de innovación Medrar.

Desde OVICA resaltaron que Praleite é un “proxecto ilusionante” porque “nace cunha base inicial moi forte, tanto polas posibilidades de financiamento e o interese da industria como por ter perfectamente estudadas cuestións relacionadas coa sanidade, a alimentación dos animais ou a propia conciliación dos gandeiros”.

Por parte das empresas destacouse, en todos os casos, o gran interese que existe na produción deste tipo de explotacións de poñerse en marcha, pois en moitos casos están a traer para transformar leite e carne de ovino e caprino de fóra. Precisamente este interese da industria, que garante a compra de toda a produción deste tipo de explotacións, “é unha garantía de éxito para o proxecto”, destacan desde FAGA.
